May 12 - 18, 2005 - Simirshamn, Sweden

Many thanks to Catarina and Mats Genberg for representing Santana HF in Europe and the Middle East and to those who bred to him during his first breeding season overseas. Darla and daughter, Lizzie, visited Sweden in May to see the first Santana HF foals born there this year. A dark bay colt, San Antonio (aka Tony), out of FH Honey Mellon, the full sister to Darley Horse of the Year, HT Sarah, was the first to arrive and the first to sell at 8 weeks to Swedish race trainers. Two more colts were born at Dag and Helen Ulvegarde's Onsala Arabians in late April. Onsala Arabians is internationally known as breeders of some of today's best European Arabian show and racehorses and their newest Santana HF additions out of these beautiful mares are no exception. After seeing these foals, Darla can say with confidence that Santana HF is consistently producing excellent confirmation, good bone and size, pleasant to beautiful type, sparkling/inquisitive personalities and willing attitudes promising tremendous heart.
